T-Boz has taken to social media to get the word out about what she says is the unjust killing of her mentally ill cousin by cops in Peoria, Illinois.

According to TMZ, the incident happened on Wednesday, September 20, when police responded to a bank robbery.

Authorities claim they used surveillance footage to identify the suspect as 25-year old Eddie Russell Jr., who was tracked down at his home.

When Eddie emerged from the home he allegedly came "toward officers with a handgun." By the police's own admission, 18 shots were fired at Eddie. The coroner determined he was hit 17-20 times.

T-Boz says cops lured Eddie from his home by promising his mother they would "give him the help he needs."

The TLC singer also doubts there was a gun in Eddie's hand in the bank surveillance video.
