Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman escaped from maximum security Altiplano prison in July — the second time he has escaped such a facility.
Since that time he's evaded capture, despite the U.S. offering $5 million for information leading to his arrest and Mexican authorities searching desperately for him.
The drug kingpin has reached mythical status and is revered both in his home country of Mexico and by American rappers.
DJ Smallz recently caught up with Soulja Boy to talk to him about Guzman's latest escape.
"That shit crazy. That's some street, boss nigga shit...kingpin shit," Soulja said.
When asked if he thought "El Chapo" would be caught again Soulja didn't sound like he thought it was a possibility.
"He got caught before, so who knows. It's just crazy. That's El Chapo, you can't underestimate the godfather of selling dope."
