Meek Mill will miss out on performing with his girlfriend, Nicki Minaj, in Las Vegas on New Year's Eve. Instead he'll be stuck in his hometown of Philadelphia doing community service as ordered by Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley, who ruled that the rapper had violated his probation, which stems from his 2009 drug and gun conviction, during a hearing on December 17.

In fact, community service is the only thing he is allowed to do since Brinkley told him that he can't work or perform until his February 5, 2016 court date. At that time she'll determine whether or not he will be sent back to jail.

If Meek, 28, real name Robert Williams, avoids jail time he still has a giant albatross hanging around his neck in the form of his probation officer, Treas Underwood.

Meek has complained about Underwood for years. The two have a long history that pre-dates him becoming famous because they grew up in the same North Philadelphia neighborhood.

In early 2014, he tweeted that Underwood, who is African American, was jealous of his success and that Assistant District Attorney Noel DeSantis was a racist.

“Every time I go 2 probation it’s a new thing,” Meek wrote at the time. “The D.A. on my case a racist. I caught that case when I was 18 [and] she’s still bothering me….I go 2 court July 11th. I want every piece of press 2 see the way they try 2 handle my case because I’m famous. I been on probation almost 6 years without going back 2 jail,” he tweeted. “I’ve been going 2 see probation every 30 days for almost 6 years. They want me 2 live in Philly so I can get killed or catch a dumb case and go 2 jail. They won’t be happy til it happen.”

DeSantis brought up the tweets when Meek appeared in court. "He's asking me to send him to jail and that's what I'm going to ask for," she told Brinkley, according to Philly.com.

On July 14, 2014, Brinkley, sentenced him to three to six months in prison for violating his probation. He was released on December 2, 2014.

As far as Meek's ongoing problems with Underwood are concerned, the New York Post's Page Six reported earlier this week that the tension between the two may be linked to a conflict Meek had years ago with one of her relatives.

“She’s from his neighborhood and he had an altercation with her cousin Coo when they were younger,” said a source.

Others wonder if Underwood is simply "obsessed" with having a famous client.

“She keeps showing up to his community service, which is not common,” a source told Page Six. “She has 122 other cases, but she has it out for him. Probation is supposed to be a rehabilitative thing, but she will do anything to keep him on probation.”

Meek wants her off of the case. Whether that actually happens is anybody's guess.
