Video After The Jump

A source from Lil Wayne's camp has reacted to the of backlash the Super Bowl 50 commercial the rapper stars in is getting.

Apartments.com's TV spot features actor Jeff Goldblum being hoisted alongside a building while playing a piano and singing the theme song from the 70's and 80's sitcom, "The Jeffersons," whose main characters were George and Weezy.

When Goldblum gets to the rooftop he spots Lil Wayne and George Washington.

"Wait, wait a minute ... is that George and Weezy?" he asks.

"Who else would it be?" Wayne responds. Before telling Golblum he's "flame broiling some burgers" to go along with his "signature apple pie."

Washington was a slave owner leading some people to call the commercial racist because Tunechi is cooking for him.

A source from Wayne's camp doesn't see it that way. They told TMZ that "people need to calm down."

"It's meant to be funny and silly and not the least bit offensive," said the source.
