Bobby Shmurda just had additional time stacked on top of his original prison sentence.
According to Billboard, the 22-year old rapper, born Ackquille Jean Pollard, pleaded guilty Thursday, February 2, to promoting prison contraband for trying to smuggle a shank into Rikers Island.
The incident happened in 2015, when he was caught with a "sharp metal object" that his girlfriend, Kimberly Rousseau, gave to him during a jail visit.
Rousseau pleaded guilty to the same charge of promoting prison contraband.
Shmurda's prison sentence has been extended by an additional 1.3 to 4 years. He could have gotten 7 years had he not accepted the plea deal.
The "Hot Nigga," rapper has been in jail since December 7, 2014, when he was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder, weapons possession and reckless endangerment.
On October 19, 2016, as part of a deal struck with prosecutors, Shmurda agreed to plead guilty in Manhattan Supreme Court to 4th-degree conspiracy to criminally possess a weapon and 2nd-degree criminal weapons possession, in exchange for a 7-year sentence, followed by 5 years probation.
